Congratulations to the Winners of CSI Programming Competition 2012!
Twenty-six brave souls participated in the CSI Programming Competition on Saturday the 18th, solving programming problems that helped humanity's fight against the robot uprizing. They were detecting DNA of roboclones, dividing supply rations, configuring shield stabilizers, searching for Carah Sonnor and helping unite separated resistance cells. Some participants competed from home, viewing their classmates via live stream from UCD CSI.
Pizza and soft drinks provided much needed energy for the participants half way into the competition, giving those competing from home some time to catch up with the main group (due to a late start). Rankings, which were visible to everyone during the main competition, were deliberately frozen half an hour before the deadline, keeping everyone on the edge regarding the final outcome:
First Year Division:
- Thomas 'thomasd' Dunne - first place
- Yash Gupta - second place (i)
Second Year Division:
- Sam 'SCD' Dunne - first place (i)
Third Year Division:
- Balazs 'baz' Pete - first place
- David 'good.guy.dave' Doyle - second place
- Shane 'shaneqful' Quigley - third place
Non-competitive Division:
- Xiang Lee
(i) - Internet participation
We would like to thank all our participants for finding time to join us this Saturday morning! We hope you you guys had fun! And those of you who got into the winners list - we hope you enjoyed the gift cards that had been delivered to your inboxes :)
