Computer Science Support Centre

The CSI Computer Science Support Centre (CSSC)

The CSSC first opened its doors on the 22nd September 2008. Previously known as the CPSC (Computer Programming Support Centre), the CSSC aims to provide academic help and advice to all students taking Computer Science modules in UCD.

This is a FREE SERVICE, offered to UCD students taking computer science modules. The center operates as a drop-in service, so if you have any computer science related difficulty, feel free to drop in. Guidelines on how and when to use the CSSC can be found here.

Announcements

NEW!!! The CSSC re-opens on Monday 23rd of January at 11am. The opening hours have changed for this semester so please consult the new timetable before dropping in. If the COMP module you require help with is not on the list below please let us know by emailing cssc@ucd.ie

For the first time, the CSSC will remain open right through the exam period, up to and including December 20th 2011. The opening hours will remain the same. If this support is used by the students we will continue to remain open in future exam periods.

In order to reflect the diversity of topics covered, the CPSC has been renamed to CSSC (Computer Science Support Centre).

The CPSC is now offering support for Springboard students taking Computer Science modules. Springboard students are welcome to drop-in to the CPSC any Friday between the (extended) opening hours of 10am-4pm. Guidelines on how and when Springboard students should use the CPSC can be found here.

More information on CSI modules is available on the CSI Modules page.

So, say for example a module such as "Intro to Programming (COMP10010)" is causing some problems for you, then you should do the following:

  • Using the tutor-modules lists (above), choose a tutor that is able to give tutorials in COMP10010

  • Using the tutors timetable (above), find a day and time where that tutor is working in the center and drop by during that time.. Simple!
