Overview of current and future wireless technologies, with an emphasis on networking and application aspects; overview of mobile/cellular systems; detailed discussion of IEEE standards (e.g. 802.11 and 802.16); introduction to mobile/wireless applications.

Outcomes

On successful completion of this module, the student willbe able to: 1. Understand current and future-looking trends in mobile and wireless networks; 2. Have an up-to-date knowledge of important standards in mobile and wireless networking; 3. Understand and implement network modelling and simulation for wireless networks.
