UCD CSI Relaunches ICSP Module for Second Level Students

On the 17th of October 2009, UCD CSI relaunched our Introduction to Computer Science and Programming (ICSP) module for second level students. 20 students from around the country have commenced on the programme with a full-day workshop in UCD School of Computer Science and Informatics. Through the module, students will be introduced to the core concepts of computer science and will recieve instruction in areas such as hardware, robotics, programmign and basic computer theory. Under the guidance of Dr. Michael O'Neill, Karl Abbey and Erik Hemberg, the programme runs fro 12 weeks between October and December 2009.

ICSP Attendee Information

The ICSP programme will commence on Saturday 8th November at 10am in the UCD School of Computer Science and Informatics.

 

Registered attendees are requested to arrive in good time as the schedule for the day is quite time-consuming.

The UCD sessions will run till 4pm with a lunch break included in the running order. Lunches are provided by us for each student.

 

Students are not required to bring any materials with them but if you have a laptop of your own, it may be useful to obtain the required software from us on the first day.

ICSP2008 - Deadline Extended

UCD CSI, in association with Google Ireland, is proud to launch “Introduction to Computer Science and Programming (ICSP)”, a new module aimed at opening up the world of computers and programming, to secondary school students (5th and 6th year), for exploration and discovery.

The application deadline for this module has been extended to Friday 14th October 2008.

Interested in computers but don’t know much about them? Interested in seeing what Computer Science at university is all about? in 2009 UCD CSI will again be running Introduction to Computer Science and Programming (ICSP)”, a new module aimed at opening up the world of computers and programming, to senior cycle students (TY, 5th and 6th years ), for exploration and discovery. UCD CSI are currently applications from current Leaving Certificate level (TY,5th and 6th year) students to participate in this new initiative.
