Posterous will organize your life
Posterous is a company that provide free blogging and group software. Ok, so there's lots of this kind of thing around. Unlike many such services, I have found posterous to be simple and useful. Here is a quick example of how incredibly useful this can be:
[1] Create a posterous account (quick and easy. http://posterous.com)
[2] Create a site for storing papers you read (mine is http://fredspdfs.posterous.com)
[3] Now, when you read a paper, email the paper to the site, along with bib details you scrape from Google Scholar to the website. It will appear there as a new blog post with a scribed widget that will allow you read it, and a download link, should you wish to have a local copy. you can also add tags, to help you sort the papers you read.
[4] Now create a customized google search engine that searches this (and any other sites you set up). This is easily done here: http://www.google.com/cse/.
[5] Of course there will be a little lag before Google has indexed your site, but now you have a search engine that searches the stuff you have read, and quickly displays the paper itself.
Your mind just got massively larger, and more efficient!
